Establish clear and consistent communication with the assigned High Councilor and Stake Presidency members.
Counsel with leaders about program needs, student progress, teacher needs, seminary credit policy, calendaring, and facilities.
Determine when leaders want regular student-progress updates and plan when those reports will be prepared and delivered (work with the Administrative Assistant).
Work with your Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to receive timely, accurate, and helpful reports for the stake.
Understand the needs of students who do not participate.
Discuss alternative class option with them and their parents to meet their needs.
Review the class options and discuss with stake leaders if new classes should be recommended or created. (see options here.)
Work with local leaders to identify potential students and what needs could be met through different class options.
Counsel with stake and ward leaders about enrollment, teacher needs, class logistics, and the number of teachers needed for the coming year.
Discuss with the Coordinator what additional options exist within his area or within the Southern Region.
Regulary meet with and talk to your teachers so you know their needs and circumstances.
If needed, help stake leaders understand seminary teacher qualifications and identify potential teachers.
Communicate with current teachers about circumstances that may affect their ability to continue and share helpful information with stake leaders.
Encourage leaders to call new teachers by graduation so they can be trained and prepared for the upcoming year.
Recognize that the ideal is often not possible and prepare for the unexpected when some teachers are not called at the begining of summer.
Ensure when a new teacher is called that her calling is entered into LCR.
Provide contact information to stake teachers and leaders..
Review building locations in WISE2 and notify the administrative assistant of changes before registration.
Submit the teacher roster by June 1, including teacher contact information, class type, class name, location, start time, meeting days, and class duration to the Administrative Assistant.
If teachers are not called by June 1, classes can still be created and students enrolled (discuss with the Administrative Assistant).
Counsel with priesthood leaders about a stake or ward seminary kickoff and help plan the event.
Help students feel excitement to attend seminary and if possible meet their teacher
Determine if it will be held at the stake our ward level.
Help parents understand the four options for seminary: In-person, Remote, Online, and Home Study.
Explain that while the other three options can be effective, in-person is preferred.
Yet not all students can attend in-person.
